Gait Studies
Step-through flip-book style for how animals move. Each sequence pairs frame-by-frame photos with a synchronized track-pattern overlay so you can see exactly where and when each foot lands and the tracks they leave behind.

Walks
A walk is a slow gait in which each foot moves independently and the animal is never completely airborne. The track pattern presents as groups of two tracks consistently spaced.

Lopes
In a lope each foot lands and pushes off independently of the other with the hind feet landing independently. In a track pattern lopes will present as groups of four tracks with one of the two hind feet registering ahead of both front feet (versus both hind feet landing ahead of the front feet in a gallop).

Bounds
Both hindfeet land and push off together — the front legs may land together or independently. The track pattern shows as groups of four. Characteristic of weasels, lagomorphs, and squirrels.
